Welcome to the 1979 alumni page for Coronado High School in
Colorado Springs, Colorado!
We mourn the loss of Don Young on Mother's Day, May 8, 2005.
As a Denver Police Detective, Don was the recipient of the Medal of
Honor Award, Distinguished Service Cross Award, 10 Official
Commendations, and 2 Commendatory Letters. Don was shot and
killed while providing security for a baptism celebration.
He is survived by his wife and two young daughters. For the full story
